The 15 flea markets in Bern 2026

In Bern the flea market mostly comes once a month. The Grosse Halle one has been part of city life since 1997: ten times a year, January and August excepted, it fills the covered and open-air parts around the hall, with around 3,000 people each time. In the PROGR gym hall on Waisenhausplatz, a vintage market lays out records, shoes and jewellery. A small one stands in front of the Minster between May and October, and the Dampfzentrale holds its own by the Aare from April to September, in any weather.

Europaplatz sees about seven flea markets a year, plus a three-day Chilbi edition that is funfair and flea market in one. By the Egelsee, only private sellers set up, with spots set aside for children. Evenings belong to the night market at the Stellwerk, with live music. In June the Breitsch-Märit goes from front door to front door through Breitenrain, and in April the old-town arcades fill with tables. Record fairs at the Sternensaal come in spring and December.
