Residents and shops of the lower Old Town clear out their cellars and attics and set it all out in the Kramgasse and Gerechtigkeitsgasse. Tables stand under the arcades or on shop forecourts, never in the street. Children who live in these lanes sell their things without paying for a pitch. The idea came from two members of the Kramgass-Leist, and the market has run for more than twenty years; today it is under the patronage of the Vereinigte Altstadtleiste.
