St. Gallen's flea markets
The old town's market is on the Gallusplatz, once a month from April to November, with benches around the linden tree and the Gallus fountain for a rest between stalls. In Advent the Christchindlimarkt, a Christmas market, takes the same square. The Quartierverein St. Mangen has run its own flea market since 1979, towards the end of each month from March to October, used goods only. Out in St. Fiden, Quartier-Flohmarkt Areal Bach sets up every other week on former railway freight land, April to October, in dry weather only.
Hinterhof Flohmarkt is a small one in a back courtyard on Rorschacherstrasse: design, vintage and retro, old illuminated letters, drinks and a grill in the garden, rain or shine. In May the Waaghaus hosts Alpin-Flohmi, once a year and only for mountain and outdoor gear.
