Arbon's flea markets
Arbon's outdoor flea market is on the Fischmarktplatz, on Lake Constance, usually in the first half of May, June and September. The town organises it, and the stalls hold rarities, oddities, kitsch and things you can really use; haggling is welcome. Indoors, the Flohmarkt im Presswerk fills the event hall of the Presswerk cultural centre several times a year, so the weather does not matter, and the restaurant in the building is open on market days.
Two more come round once a year. In autumn, the Kinder-Flohmi im Schloss Arbon turns the castle over to the children: from the age of four, with an adult beside them, they sell the books, clothes and toys they no longer use. Between Christmas and New Year, the Nachtflohmarkt im Presswerk fills the same hall for one evening.
