Association Calabash, which runs the market, is a non-profit that supports children and families in Sierra Leone: health care, small loans for women, cultural exchange with Switzerland. Private people sell next to dealers, craftspeople and makers. There's nothing to eat or drink at the stalls, but the Pâtisserie des Escaliers bakery is usually open. If you come by car, parking is free on market day on Place du Château or Place du Tunnel, and the Riponne car park charges a reduced rate.
